About Backup Rank

Backup Rank is an independent site that compares portable power stations sold in the US for home backup. We don't make or sell power stations, and no maker or shop pays for a place in our lists.

How we work

Backup Rank compares 54 power stations from 9 brands. Every specification shows the page it came from and the date we checked it; every price shows the date it was checked (latest: November 8, 2026). We do not test products in person. We read the makers' and shops' own pages, and when a page does not state a value, we say "Not listed" instead of guessing.

How the rankings work

Each best list scores power stations on a few points that matter for that list, such as ac output, battery capacity, capacity per pound, charge w per wh, lowest price, max solar input, max with extra batteries, price per wh, ups switchover and warranty. The formula and its weights are shown under every list. Scores are computed from the data: nobody adjusts them by hand, and whether a shop pays us has no effect on them.

How we make money

Shop buttons are affiliate links. When you buy through one, the shop may pay us a commission, and your price stays the same. Details are in our affiliate disclosure.
